Congratulations to Jess – the H&V News Awards apprentice of the year
Huge congratulations are in order for two of our amazing apprentices –Jess Baker and Harry Playfair – who were both recognised at this year’s H&V News Awards.
Heating and Ventilation apprentice Jess was named apprentice of the year in the over 21 category. As an advocate of encouraging women into construction apprenticeships, Jess is a great inspiration to others who are looking to kickstart a career in engineering.
She was also praised for the vital role she played on the Royal Hallamshire Hospital project in Sheffield, where our engineering teams helped to deliver four new state-of-the-art operating theatres and a recovery area within a live hospital environment.
Building Services Engineer apprentice Harry was highly commended in the under 21 category. He was applauded for his work on the 'Our Town Hall' project in Manchester, the largest heritage restoration project currently taking place in the UK.
Harry is also an active STEM Ambassador, encouraging other young people to look at careers in engineering, and volunteers his time to lead talks to school groups.
The H&V News Awards is an annual celebration of excellence and covers the entire heating, ventilation, and air conditioning building services supply chain.
Well done to both Jess and Harry both of whom are great role models and great examples of what can be achieved through an apprenticeship – it’s great to see them receive these prestigious awards.
